Winery Review: 4 months in new American oak barrels. Bright ruby-red. Dried cherry, pipe tobacco and rose aromas, with a hint of woodsmoke. Sweet and fleshy on the palate, with blackberry and cherry flavors complimented by licorice and a suggestion of dried herbs. My Review: Wow, that sure WAS oaked for 4 months. This was an extremely dry wine although it was cherry and smoky upon smelling (which I really like). This wine had entirely too much flavor for my novice taste buds but I don't think I could sit and drink this. I'd be interested to see what it's like with food because it's way too powerful by itself. Not a huge fan.
